1 Overview
The short version: We collect only what we need to run LifeDoc. We never sell your personal data or your documents. You are always in control of your information.
This Privacy Policy explains how LifeDoc ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our document analysis platform at lifedoc.app (the "Service"). By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2 Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (for Pro subscribers) payment information processed securely by Stripe. We never store your full credit card number.
Documents You Upload: We receive the content of documents you upload or paste into the Service for the sole purpose of providing you with analysis. See Section 4 for our full document handling policy.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, analysis history, and timestamps.
Device & Technical Data: We collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system to operate and improve the Service.

3 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Process your document analyses and deliver results
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send you important service notifications (not marketing spam)
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Improve and develop the Service using aggregated, anonymized insights
- Comply with legal obligations
We will only send you marketing communications if you have opted in, and you may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
4 Your Documents
Your documents belong to you. We process them to provide analysis. We do not read them for advertising, do not share them with third parties, and do not use their specific content to train AI models.
When you upload or paste a document:
- It is transmitted securely using TLS encryption
- It is processed by our AI partner (Anthropic) under a strict data processing agreement that prohibits training on your data
- The results are stored on your account dashboard until you delete them or close your account
- You can delete any document from your dashboard at any time, which permanently removes it from our systems
We strongly recommend not uploading documents that contain the personal data of others (such as third-party medical records or contracts involving other individuals) unless you have their consent.
6 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specific retention periods are listed in the table in Section 2.
When you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., financial transaction records which may be kept for up to 7 years).
7 Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- TLS encryption for all data in transit
- AES-256 encryption for data at rest
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Strict access controls — only authorized personnel can access user data
- Two-factor authentication available for your account

9 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

10 Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@lifedoc.app and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
11 International Data Transfers
LifeDoc is based in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the European Economic Area.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
